Volunteers are always welcome at CEDA.  It is through the use of additional help that the students are able to achieve more at the centre.  Many of our students really appreciate having somebody to help them on a one-to-one basis, communicating with them and taking an interest in what they say and do. This is very valuable; do not underestimate your importance within the organisation.

Work experience can help you stand out from the crowd. We believe work experience at CEDA can;

The experiences you gain while with us can also be very helpful in the process of discovering more about a job or career that suits you. You can gain an inside picture of a particular employer, career and see how this fits in with your hopes and expectations.

 
 

What CEDA asks from a volunteer

  

To respect students as individuals, to work under the supervision of an appointed member of staff, to carry out agreed tasks with the students, to help the student produce work, not to do the work for the student, to talk to the students in an appropriate manner, to follow the letter and spirit of the organisation’s policies and procedures, including equal opportunities, health and safety and not to betray any confidences entrusted to you as a volunteer.

  
 

What CEDA would like a volunteer to contribute

  

Enthusiasm, motivation, inspiration, encouragement, and any skills you have which may benefit our service users.  It would be appreciated if you could inform us if you are unable to attend the centre as this would help us to plan the session and inform the centre if you no longer wish to volunteer.

 
 

What CEDA can offer a volunteer?

  

To provide a full induction for the volunteer role therefore leading to a fulfilling experience. Through adequate support and supervision volunteers should be able to develop, expand and change their work.  CEDA treats all volunteers in line with its equal opportunity policies and all insurance cover will be provided, CEDA implement good health and safety practices.
